So for this week, my main goal was audio. I spent time going through freesound.org's library of sounds. The goal was to find sounds for enemies which included sounds for saws, mechanical hammers, grinders etc. I also had to find sounds for pig death. After I found the various sounds I was able to edit them in audacity. Which means I shortened them or blended them with various environmental sounds.
After I collected these sounds I created a soundscape for the menu scene.
As the week went on I experimented with Fruity Loops and Audacity to create a musical style for the game. After discussing with my team i decided to create a separate tune for each level. All the Levels will share a bass line as a way to create cohesion in the audio experience. Eventually I choose to us BeepBox an online chiptune maker. BeepBox allowed me to generate aspects of the music and which I than exported into Audacity to edit.
As the sounds are completed they will be added to a sound library with a script to manage their playtime.
