Victor Devlog_Week2
Over the past week my primary focus was to finalize level designs. As such I worked with Jose Otero to explain and create a layout that would change player behavior and expectations level to level.I have gone into the designs of these levels as if they were a sample for a much larger game. I visualize each level as the first level in a future series of "game worlds".
Level_2 : Is about moving the exit. Most players through our experiences with platformers and other similar game experiences have been trained to expect an exit almost near or in the same location( with many exceptions). By changing the location I expect players to attempt to find the door in the known location before the are forced to explore other regions of the room.
Level_3: Is about removing options. Using the theme I constructed a conveyor belt which drags you along but effects your options of movement. Since the game is played in darkness . I want players to time danger. To create a mental map as they play. To aid them in this this level leads them to an exit.
Level_4 : Is a greater focus on timing but also we introduce sound cues, to detect danger. This level is hopefully going to punish recklessness. but also inspire it. I hope players will rush forward as they don't have walls to act as guides. And the exit is surrounded by moving fans that cause death.
Level_5: Is an open level where the only true mechanic is "which is the exit?" (This is still in development)
Castillo , Otero and myself agreed on designing 3d components for the game as to create a better sense of environment.
Goals:
My goals now lie in music ..coming up with the sound library to use. And hopefully Create and chip tune or 8 bit horror game music.
Get PORK!
PORK!
Escape the room or get butchered.
